Connecting Veterans Through Fitness

Lift For The 22 is a national nonprofit (501c3) designed to connect the veteran community, aid in the transition to civilian life and reduce veteran suicide. Since 2015 we have partnered with over 500 fitness facilities nationwide who discount/donate gym memberships to us, which we then make available to our brethren. Lift For The 22 believes that through fitness, camaraderie, and peer to peer support, we can help end the suicide epidemic, and ease the transition to civilian life..

Lift for the 22 should be a Standard Operating Procedure. It makes too much sense not to be in every gym. It has helped me personally in facilitating healthier ways of dealing with things instead of a bottle or isolation. My LFT chapter is my new home. WoA Beaverton. Best in the West!

Lift for the 22 brought me into an outstanding community of veterans that provides support for our brothers and sisters in need and a great network for those transitioning out of service, as well as those that have been out for some time. It is unfortunate that it is tragedy that has brought us together, but it's our purpose that solidifies our bond.

LFT22 has saved my life. After going through a difficult transition from deploying and back in to civilian life I discovered this organization thanks to Carter Davis himself. Now I get connected with other vets who struggle through similar adversity and being able to overcome them by working out and having that support system. So with that being said I say thank you LFT22.

Lift for the 22 gives me and my fellow brothers and sisters connection, the type of connection that we lose when we integrate back to the civilian world.

Lift for the 22 reminded me that I am not alone. It gave me a place to feel comfortable knowing that there are other like minded veterans out there who need a little more motivation to get back into fitness. Just like me.

Lift for the 22 gives us vets that security and reliability to help each other out when times get tough. It reminds us of who has our back when u think you have no one.

I too almost became a statistic of the 22/day, but Lift for the 22 was there when I needed something, and someone. They have been a HUGE support, the ve‚Äčterans in the program have been helping me to find a better job, loaning me a vehicle so I can continue to support my family after losing ours, & mo‚Äčst of all, by helping me crawl out of the dark hole I was in. One of the biggest aspects of this program, is the camaraderie & support that is there between the veterans. I had that while serving, but I thought it was gone. They have connected me to thousands of other Vets, that I never knew were there. I am feeling like I do belong to my missing brotherhood/sisterhood again, and I am forever grateful to this organization and I will never forget them or their mission.

Lift for the 22 showed me that regardless whether my blood family is around or not I will always have my brothers and sisters who served the same as I. It's helped me set a better place for my mind and family.

Lift for the 22 has helped me find the drive inside of me to do better and improve myself like I know I can. Everyone in this group is working to improve their lives and the lives of other veterans. Feel proud to be a part of it.

Lift for the 22 has given me a sense of purpose that I haven't had in a long time. Helping my brothers and sisters makes me feel better about myself. I also know that if I'm ever in need I have a support system that I haven't had since I was in the military. None of us feel alone and there is no greater feeling than that.

Lift for the 22 has shown me that the esprit de corps we value is still strong. Support to better ourselves, and watch over our own.
